Remotes We Supply
We supply new remotes for three opener brands: Garador, Dominator and Ditec. If your door has one of those motors, we will match the remote, pair it and test it, either at the showroom or on site when we are out for a service.
How to get a replacement remote
Bring the old remote, or a photo of the label on your garage door motor, to the showroom (Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm). We match the remote to the opener and pair it there, or pair it on site during a service. Not sure what motor you have? Send us a photo and we will tell you.
Got an old remote or an older motor?
Come and ask
We do not stock remotes for older or discontinued brands, but we can often make a new remote work with an old motor. If your opener is an older Merlin, B&D, Chamberlain, ATA or Gliderol, or the name has worn off it altogether, bring the old remote or a photo of the motor's label into the showroom at 20 Euclid Avenue, Te Rapa, and we will tell you straight whether one of our new remotes will talk to it. If it will not, we will tell you what will. No pressure, no jargon, just come and have a chat.
FAQs
Can I buy a garage door remote without knowing the brand?
Yes. Send us a photo of the motor unit on the ceiling of your garage, especially the label. We can identify the brand and model from that and tell you which remote fits.
Can you pair a new remote to an older opener?
Often, yes. We supply Garador, Dominator and Ditec remotes, and many older motors will accept one of them. Very old units can be a problem because parts genuinely run out, and in that case we tell you whether a new motor is the sensible move rather than guessing. The best bet is to bring it in and have a chat.
Do you sell remotes for doors you did not install?
Yes. It does not matter who installed the door or the motor.
