Real ANSWERS to common questions — no fluff.
General Garage Door Questions
How do I know what type of door I have?
Roller Door: Rolls up into a barrel at the top.
Tilt Door: One full panel that tilts outward in a single motion.
Sectional Door: Multiple horizontal panels, hinged together that lift up and over.
How much does a new garage door cost?
Pricing depends on size, material, and design. Roller doors tend to be the most affordable, while sectional, tilt, and cedar doors sit higher on the scale. Custom flush-mount doors are premium. We’ll give you clear, upfront pricing — no surprises.
Do you install doors for new builds?
Yes — we work with homeowners, builders, and developers. We’re happy to read plans, recommend options, or work alongside your project timeline.
Do you have standard doors in stock?
All doors are custom-made to suit your garage opening exactly. We don’t keep “off-the-shelf” sizes — each door is made to measure.
Do you offer free quotes?
Yes — we offer free on-site quotes for new doors and repair jobs.
Will you dispose of my old door if I’m replacing it?
Absolutely. We’ll remove and dispose of your old door as part of the install.
Repairs & Servicing
How often should I service my garage door?
We recommend annual servicing for most homes. Commercial doors or high-use setups may require more frequent maintenance.
What does a service include?
Inspection, lubrication, spring tension check, opener testing, alignment checks, and safety sensor calibration. We also provide advice on worn parts.
Should I service my door even if it seems fine?
Yes — like a car, your garage door has moving parts under tension that wear over time. Regular servicing ensures safe operation and upholds your warranty.
Can I replace springs myself?
Sectional Door: Not recommended — these springs are under high tension and can be dangerous.
Tilt Door: Easier, but can still be tricky. We recommend professional help.
Is there anything I can do to reduce noise?
Yes — use a silicone-based spray (like Chemz No.8) on hinges and wheels. Don’t overdo it, or it may drip onto the door surface.
Remotes, Openers & Accessories
Can I get a replacement remote?
Yes — we carry genuine remotes not imitations or copies. Bring your old one in or tell us your opener brand.
Do all remotes work with all motors?
No — each motor has specific compatible remotes. We’ll match the right one for your setup.
How do I code in a new remote?
It depends on your motor. We'll give you easy to follow instructions and backup advice when you purchase from us.
What if the motor buttons aren’t working when I try to code a remote?
Try removing or adjusting the plastic programming cover — it may be blocking the buttons from pressing properly.
Do you sell keypads, safety beams, and accessories?
Yes — full range available including batteries, brackets, wall buttons, and backup systems.
Re-engaging Your Door
How do I re-engage a sectional or tilt door motor?
Lift the door halfway and pull the release cord back toward the motor. Press the remote once. If it doesn’t catch, press it again to complete the cycle.
How do I re-engage a roller door motor?
Pull the manual release cord down until it clicks — that re-engages the motor.
How do I lock the door manually during a power cut?
Sectional: Insert a screwdriver through a roller track hole.
Roller: Pull cord down after closing until it clicks.
Tilt: Use a broom handle or bar through the power arm to the wall.
